‘Remove governor’s name from respondents list’, says Hyderabad High Court

The removal was sought for alleged failure of the Speaker to act on the representation made against the defected MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav (from TDP to TRS).

HYDERABAD: A division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday directed the registry to remove the Governor’s name from the list of respondents in the petition filed seeking to restrain the Telangana Assembly Speaker S Madhusudana Chary from discharging his duties of Speaker.

The removal was sought for alleged failure of the Speaker to act on the representation made against the defected MLA Talasani Srinivas Yadav (from TDP to TRS).

The bench of Chief Justice TBN Radhakrishnan and Justice Ramesh Ranganathan was dealing with the matter placed before it by the registry which had raised an objection for naming the Governor of AP and Telangana ESL Narasimhan as respondent to the petition filed by advocate G Malleswara Rao.

The bench asked the petitioner’s counsel Mallikarjuna Sharma as to why he had named the Governor as respondent to the petition.
