Hassin told Modi that she had travelled states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana where she was able to motivate many women.

WARANGAL: It was a great day for Kauser Hassin of Veler village of Warangal urban district. She not only got a chance to interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a video conference, but also got to speak to him about her self help group (SHG),  impressing him with her experience and achievements. She explained to the Prime Minister how she, as a single mother with just a matriculation degree, could not only earn her own livelihood but also motivate hundreds of women across the nation.

“I was just 16 years old when I got married and I was a mother of two by the time I turned 20. I got separated from my husband when I was 25 and I did not know what to do after that. Local SHG women members motivated me to join them, enabling me to earn my livelihood. Today I am motivating women who are in desperate need of help,”she told the Prime Minister who interacted with her as part of “Samvad” programme from Delhi on Thursday. During the programme, Modi interacted with eight SHGs across the nation.

Hassin told Modi that she had travelled states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, West Bengal, Punjab and Haryana where she was able to motivate many women.

The PM was very impressed with the dress worn by her group members and urged all the SHG members in the country to follow them. Modi said he gets motivation from such SHGs to work harder for the development of the country.  The conversation lasted for about 10 minutes.
