HYDERABAD: During his visit to the state capital, BJP national president Amit Shah on Friday directed party leaders to step up attack against the TRS in the run-up to the Assembly polls.
“BJP is the only alternative to the TRS in the state. Organise more programmes to expose the failures of the state government to show people how the Congress, being the main Opposition party, had failed to organise agitations on people’s issues,” Shah told the party workers.
During the meeting, according to sources, the BJP national president directed the party state leadership to group polling booths into A, B, C, D and E categories depending on the party’s strength in each polling booth in every constituency. He further directed to give the responsibility of winning over the electors in every polling booth to five workers each who have smart phones and bikes, so that they can conduct door-to-door visits extensively.
It is learnt that the BJP national president was unhappy over the way state party leadership had failed to constitute polling booth level committees in all the 31,000 polling booths in the state. Hence, he asked the party leadership to constitute committees in all the polling booths by August 15.
“Shah asked party leaders to undertake yatras in each Assembly segment to prepare the party cadres for elections. We have been directed to aggressively market the welfare schemes introduced by Narendra Modi government to each section of electors,” BJP MLC N Ramachandra Rao told Express.
