Telangana government planning to use Wakf lands for educational institutions

The state government was determined to provide jobs to Muslim youth by imparting necessary training and skills, the Chief Secretary said.

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government planned to utilise Wakf lands for building more educational institutions for Muslim youth, state Chief Secretary S K Joshi said today.

Joshi, who held a meeting with officials on minorities welfare, sought a detailed report on Wakf lands in all districts.

Our plan is to utilise the Wakf lands in a productive manner to boost education of Muslims, he said.

He said that over 64,000 Muslim students were studying in 204 minorities residential schools in the state.

The state government was determined to provide jobs to Muslim youth by imparting necessary training and skills, the Chief Secretary said.

A plan was on the cards to construct a national skill development centre in the state to impart training and skills to the youth, he added.
