HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday said that the TRS government has allocated Rs 2,000 crore in the Budget for the welfare of the Muslims. “It was by the mercy of the almighty that statehood for Telangana could be achieved,’’ he said at an Iftar hosted at the LB stadium in the city on Friday .

On the occasion, the Chief Minister distributed clothes to the economically backward Muslims. The State government has been hosting Iftar for the Muslim community eversince the State formation.
Addressing the people, KCR said that the TRS government had allocated `2,000 crore in the Budget for the welfare of Muslims in the Sate. 

Telangana State Legislative Council chairman K Swami Goud, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, GHMC Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and others attended the Dawat-e-Iftar.
