Telangana torchbearer Keshav Rao Jadhav passes away

Jadhav, a professor in Osmania University, had been a staunch supporter of a separate Telangana all his life and had actively participated in the 1969 agitation for Telangana statehood.

HYDERABAD: Retired professor Keshav Rao Jadhav, who had played a key role for a separate Telangana for decades, passed away here today.

He was 85.

Jadhav had been suffering from breathing and other age-related problems and the end came this morning, Balakrishna, a professor who knew Jadhav for long, said.

Jadhav, a professor in Osmania University, had been a staunch supporter of a separate Telangana all his life and had actively participated in the 1969 agitation for Telangana statehood, he said.

The funeral was held here this evening, he said.

Condoling the death of Jadhav, Telangan chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao recalled the departed soul's contribution to the cause of Telangana, a press release from the chief minister's office said.

Former union minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya and other leaders condoled the death of Jadhav.
