KALWAKURTHY/HYDERABAD: Akin to the “mutton soup” murder case in which a housewife had eliminated her contractor-husband in a filmy style to live with her paramour a few months ago, another such incident came to light in Nagarkurnool district.  A woman with the help of her son and paramour killed her husband and chopped off his husband into pieces before dumping it into a lake. After that, she lodged a complaint with the police, saying that her husband had gone missing.

According to police, Kavali Mallaiah (45) and Kavali Parvathamma, along with their three children including elder son Srisailam, were living at Kalwakurthy town. Mallaiah, an alcohol addict, used to physically abuse his wife.

A few months ago, Parvathamma came in contact with one Ramulu of Sripuram village. Soon afterwards, the friendship led to an extramarital affair between them. The affair then transformed into a more sinister one when the couple decided that they wanted to be together at any cost.

It is understood that in order to live happily with her paramour, she hatched a plan to eliminate her husband. She sought the help of her paramour Ramulu and also her elder son Srisailam. On April 20, the trio allegedly killed Mallaiah.  After laying low for more than a month, to evade suspicion Parvathama on June 7th lodged a complaint at Kalwakurthy police station. In her complaint she said that her husband had gone missing after leaving for Hyderabad on April 17. However, the trio on Friday went to the police station themselves and confessed their crimes.

“The trio on Friday confessed to killing Mallaiah. They strangulated him to death and chopped his body into three pieces. They stuffed the flesh in a gunny bag and threw it in Naganoolu lake. The trio has been booked under the charges of murder and will be produced before a court,” said Kalwakurthy police.
