Committee makes recommendations for sports certificates

Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials are investigating the cases of irregularities and bribery that allegedly took place in the Sports Authority of Telangana State .

HYDERABAD: While the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials are investigating the cases of irregularities and bribery that allegedly took place in the Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) by giving priority letters to candidates in getting medical seats under sports and NCC quota, an internal probe of the authority was held by experts in finding facts.

Sources told Express that an inquiry committee comprising experts on behalf of the government have done a thorough inquiry and accepted opinion of parents and sports candidates. After collecting information from different sectors, the inquiry committee made several recommendations. The committee members of sports authority made deliberations in recommending the criteria for inclusion of sports discipline to be eligible for sports quota in future.

Participants of the last Olympics, youth Olympics, Asian games, youth Asian games, Commonwealth games, South Asian Federation games and national games get weightage in getting priority letters from Sports Authority for getting admissions in to medical seats under sports and NCC quota.

“These rules and regulations framed must be followed by the Sports Authority in issuing certificates to candidates. These were made after deliberations, including investigations agency, has found fault with some of officers in the authority,” officials said.
