HYDERABAD: BJP national spokesman GVL Narasimha Rao wondered whether TPCC working president Revanth Reddy was a politician or a land dealer involved in land-grabbing activities.  Citing a report appeared in these columns, he said  Revanth Reddy’s main source of income was land-grabbing and ‘settlements’.

“The TNIE and few other media reports said that Revanth Reddy amassed wealth by settling land disputes. His job descriptions read more of a land grabber than of a people’s representative,” Rao said here on Saturday.Taking a dig at the Congress leader, Rao said  the Congress leaders were painting themselves to be righteous and are resorting to self-certification of the same.”

“In movies, land grabbers are portrayed as villains but it is surprising that such people exist in a political party,” he said.  The disproportionate assets amassed by Revanth Reddy is just a tip of the iceberg and many more such assets could be there, he said.  The IT department in its report, which came out in the media, has shed more light on this, he said.

Reading out the particulars of the news report in which KLSR Infratech unaccounted assets were used for cash-for-note scam, he suspected that Reddy has been elevated as working president of the Congress as it identifies those who resort to illegal activities. “Uttam Kumar Reddy who said it was a political vendetta against his party member owes an explanation to the people and seek forgiveness,” he said. On TDP MP CM Ramesh’s  disproportionate assets case, Rao said that no one can get away with swindling public money.
