Revanth case:Election Commission of India to file counter

Reddy, in his petition, had claimed that he was in danger because ‘he was fighting the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and its corrupt practices’.

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad High Court on Friday granted permission to the Election Commission of India to file a counter affidavit by Monday in relation to the petition filed by Telangana Congress working president A Revanth Reddy seeking 4+4 security in view of life threat perception from his political rivals.

When the matter came up for hearing, the petitioner’s counsel raised an objection when the State Government counsel attempted to place his arguments in the case.

The petitioner’s counsel told the Court that the State had no role to play in the case. Meanwhile, the standing counsel for ECI sought some time for filing a counter affidavit in the case. Considering the plea, the judge posted the matter to Monday for hearing.

Reddy, in his petition, had claimed that he was in danger because ‘he was fighting the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and its corrupt practices’.
