HYDERABAD: Two Travelling Ticket Examiners (TTEs) were thrashed by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) workers at Kazipet Railway Station resulting in injuries on Friday.

Protesting against the attack on the two TTEs, Ramesh and Tejdeep, railways employees and members of SCR Mazdoor Union staged a protest demonstration and raised slogans at platform number 10 on Bhoiguda side demanding safety and protection to the railway employees.

Sources said that the incident took place when a large number of BJYM workers were travelling in the East Coast Express to participate in the two-day national convention of BJYM scheduled to be held on October 27 and 28 at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad.

A large number of passengers with valid tickets were not allowed in their respective seats as it was occupied by BJYM members and this was brought to the notice of the TTEs.

As some BJYM workers were travelling without valid tickets, the TTEs asked them to get down from the train, which resulted in arguments.

As the train reached Kazipet railway station, BJYM workers thrashed the TTEs, which caused injuries to them and they were taken to a nearby hospital.
