KAMAREDDY: Cautioning the people that voting for Grand Alliance was akin to writing own death warrant, IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said that TRS was the only party which would work for the welfare of the Telangana. Rama Rao also gave a new definition to his father’s acronym - KCR. “KCR means Kalvalu (canals), Cheruvulu (tanks) and Reservoirs.” Rama Rao also stated that the development of irrigation sector was possible only with caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Speaking during the road shows organised between Kamareddy and Ligampet village of Yellareddy Assembly constituencies on Tuesday, he said: “If farmers vote for Congress-led grand alliance that will be like signing one’s own death warrant.’’ While expressing confidence that his party would retain power, he said that party cadre and people should help in increasing voting percentage on the lines of gram panchayat elections and ‘only that kind of system will help the party to win the seats with a huge majority’.

“Gram panchayat elections will be held in the State after the Assembly polls. In that elections, the candidates and the supporters, knowing the value of every single vote, will be urging every voter in the village to exercise their franchise. On the same lines, party cadre should work hard to ensure increase in the polling percentage. That will automatically help our candidates to win the seats with majority of votes,” he said.

Criticising Congress-led grand alliance, he said ‘they do not have any vision to develop Telangana state’. Rama Rao also hit back at Congress leaders for their ‘baseless criticism’ of TRS chief and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

“Two days ago CM visited Delhi for medical tests. Congress leaders alleged that he had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was actually on a tour of Japan. Congress leaders have also been making allegations against CM’s grandson who has not entered politics,’’ he said.

Stating that Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s ‘image will not work in the State’, he also questioned the credibility of TPCC leaders N Uttamkumar Reddy, A Revanth Reddy and M Shabbir Ali who are making allegations against his party.

During the road shows, KTR was accompanied by party leaders E Ravindar Reddy and Govardhan.
Rama Rao appealed to the party cadre and general public to try and boost their voting percentage to help his party win the seats in order to get a huge margin in the upcoming elections.
