Described by Billboard Magazine as a ‘visionary composer and producer’, Karsh Kale is one of the brightest stars of global music today. In the past 12 years, he has set the world of electronic fusion on fire. If you haven’t heard him already, today is the perfect chance to catch him live in action at The Chivas Studio 2012, where he will be exploring new sounds with his musical reprise titled, Karsh Kale Collectiv, at the Naniya Gardens, ITC Maurya.

‘‘I’ve been playing at Chivas Studio for the last two years. This year is most special as I’m performing with my band in India. We’ve been working on new material and I hope everybody enjoys it,’’ says Kale.

What makes him happier is that he will not be alone. He will be accompanied by the likes of filmmaker and brand, Karan Johar and designer, Rohit Bal, who come together on what’s become a sought after showcase of eclectic talent. Karan Johar will present a short film, Strangers in the Night, directed by Shakun Batra, a tale of real friendship.

‘‘It has been an exciting opportunity for me to be a part of the Chivas Studio this year and creating the short film. Chivas is all about brotherhood and collaborations and making this short film has been a refreshing experience for me,’’ says Johar. Bal on the other hand will be seen breaking ground with an eclectic mélange, titled Urban Mela, Tamaasha-A Chivas Soiree. ‘‘Tamaasha is whimsical, quirky and at the same time artistic and extremely thought provoking. I am sure each one of you will not only like it, but want more from it,’’ says Bal.
