Forgetful Prabhu

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu seems to be getting forgetful. When he stepped out of his Rail Bhawan office recently to address the media, he forgot to wear his shoes. When his Cabinet colleague Ananth Kumar pointed to his bare feet, Prabhu paced back to his office and emerged in a pair of sneakers.

Space Crunch

When the Supreme Court reopens on July 3 after its summer break, the jam-packed building will have three bigger courtrooms and a spacious consultation room for lawyers. This will reduce the jostling inside courtrooms for space, due to which many female lawyers have complained about touching and harassment by male colleagues.

Junior minister in the Ministry of Defence Subhash Bhamre, who has always shied away from the limelight and media glare, made his maiden to the Kashmir Valley to take stock of the situation. During his interaction with military commanders at forward locations, he said, “This is the not the same Kashmir about which we read in Delhi’s newspapers.”

Warming Up to UP

Noida MP and Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Mahesh Sharma had distanced himself from Uttar Pradesh after Yogi Adityanath took charge as CM after the recent Assembly elections. Before the polls, Sharma had been quite active in the state. On Saturday, he visted Mathura for an event hosted by his ministry, which was attended by MLAs and leaders. Perhaps Sharma is warming up to his state once again.

Agrarian Media Crisis

Union Minister for Agriculture Radha Mohan Singh is uncomfortable amidst farmers’ agitation. He’s been avoiding the media is meeting selective journalists to put across achievements of his ministry under him. However, he is peeved that he’s not getting enough positive media coverage.
