CRPF ties up with Oyo to de-stress soldiers

NEW DELHI: To reach out to personnel stressed out due to continuous deployment in hard areas with poor service conditions, the CRPF has tied up with Oyo hotels for providing lodging facilities to jawans and officers for vacations and official assignments.

Oyo has over 6,500 hotels across the country in 250 cities, and will offer a one-point solution—from bookings to hospitality support—to CRPF officers and men. CRPF personnel will have to call or send a message to the relationship manager with their name, rank, city, check-in and check-out time to avail the services.

“The group will provide accommodation services for official travel, temporary duty, short assignments and course activities. The services will also be available for transit accommodation for CRPF employees following transfers besides LTC, holidays and vacations. Accommodation for events, exhibitions, conferences and seminars will also be available, including airfare, cab transfers and hotel rooms,” said a CRPF official.

The services will be available in three categories catering to various ranks of officials according to their entitlements for official tours. For the ranks of inspector and below, No Frills Category AC room with wi-fi will be available ` 999 in 2,300-plus hotels.

Under the Premium Category, rooms for the rank of Assistant Commandant and Deputy Commandant will be provided for `1,600- 4,000 at 1,200 hotels. Under the Elite Category, officials of the rank of second-in-command and above can avail the service for `4,000 at over 80 hotels.

With close to 250 operational battalions (2.5 lakh personnel), CRPF faces acute shortage of accommodation facilities at the pan-India level. The move is expected to provide relief to its personnel who have to often move on short notice for deployment for law and order roles in troubled areas, the official said.
