After Rahul Gandhi's recent visit, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi will be addressing a poll rally on October 18 in Mahendergarh to give a boost to the party's campaign.

A delegation of Congress leaders led by former Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and state party chief Kumari Selja along with Abhishek Manu Singhvi met the poll panel.
The Congress had named former Union minister Selja as the party chief in the state to curb the factional feud between Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Ashok Tanwar, who was the Congress president earlier.
The announcements come after months of speculations and growing factionalism among party leaders in the state.
Sources said the party high command is understood to have decided to replace Tanwar, who was appointed as state party chief in February 2014.
