The IAF spokesman added that trekking down the hill is risky and dangerous considering the terrain and the area has been experiencing heavy rains in the last couple of days.
An unmanned aerial vehicle and C-130J aircraft had taken to the skies but they landed back due to rain and poor weather.
They said the thick vegetation and difficult terrain of the area was making the rescue operation a herculean task.
This is in addition to the ongoing search operation being carried out by IAF, Navy, Army, Indo Tibetan Border Police, Arunachal Police and others.
Military sources said rescuers have not received any signal from the emergency locator beacon in the missing plane, adding there is a possibility that the device may not have been functional.
