7 Rohingya immigrants' repatriation with 'full concurrence' of Myanmar, says External Affairs Ministry
The MEA statement came after the Supreme Court allowed the first ever deportation of seven illegally-migrated Rohingyas to Myanmar while rejecting a plea made by one of the Rohingyas.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court rejected the plea made by one of the Rohingya refugees seeking to restrain the Centre from deporting them to Myanmar.
The protest, held at the Exhibition Ground in Jammu, was led by JKNPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh, who claimed the immigrants were involved in illegal activities.
The Centre has already committed Rs 4,000 crore of additional grants for funding various infrastructure projects, including four and six-laning of national highways.
