Man Arrested in UK for Praising Paris Attacks on Facebook

A 21-year-old man in the UK has been arrested for allegedly posting a message on Facebook praising ISIS' terror attacks in Paris.

LONDON: A 21-year-old man in the UK has been arrested for allegedly posting a message on Facebook praising ISIS' terror attacks in Paris and warning that Manchester could be next target of the dreaded terror group.

The comments surfaced on Facebook for around 45 minutes on Sunday before they were removed after a backlash from other users.

The 21-year-old from Todmorden, West Yorkshire, was arrested yesterday and remains in police custody on suspicion of inciting racial hatred, The Mirror reported.

"My brothers did well in Paris. Now we have proved that there's a bit of intelligence, planning and synchronisation going into our killings," the Facebook post said.

"You people are starting to realise that we are a force to be reckoned with. We are ISIS, this is our time now. Keep your eyes on Manchester...Rip Jihadi John," it said.

Facebook users hit out at the shocking rant and reported him to police.

The arrest comes in the aftermath of the Paris attacks last week that claimed over 120 lives.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police was quoted as saying, "A 21-year-old male from Todmorden has been arrested today for publishing material intending to incite racial hatred."

"This follows a Facebook post supporting Islamic State.

West Yorkshire Police take this behaviour seriously, especially in light of the recent events in Paris. The male remains in custody whilst police investigate the offence," the spokesman said.
