The Saudi Police has detained a 14- year old boy after he was seen dancing to the tune of the Spanish song 'Macarena' in Jeddah, The Guardian has reported.

The boy whose name and nationality isn't known can be seen wearing a striped t-shirt and shorts with headphones at a traffic signal and casually grooving to the song. The 45-second-video was posted by an onlooker on Twitter and has since been going viral since then with over 2,000 retweets and likes.

The teenager was detained on charges of showing "improper behaviour' and "disruption of traffic". It is not clear if any official charges would be filed against him.

Earlier this month a Saudi singer was arrested for dabbing on stage.

Interestingly, Saudis are the most active social media users but after the Macarena video went viral, there is an increasing debate about the freedom of expression.
