Ashok declares Dwarapudi cashless model village

VIZIANAGARAM: Union Minister for Civil Aviation P Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Monday announced Dwarapudi, which was adopted by him, as a ‘Digital Transactions Enabled Model Village’.
The minister took a tour to the village and inspected the various digital modes of payment the villagers have adopted to tide over the cash crunch in the aftermath of demonetisation.

He also bought some stuff from a village shop, by making digital payment.  
On the occasion, a meeting was also organised on the benefit of cashless transaction wherein the district officials spoke at length on various initiative undertaken to transform Vizianagaram into a cashless district.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Gajapathi Raju thanked to officials for putting efforts on a war footing to achieve the target. He expressed his happiness as the entire village had adopted the plastic currency.
Minister for housing K Mrunalini and collector Vivek Yadav accompanied Ashok during his visit to the village.
