BMW India introduced another entry-level SUV with minor updates in term of its looks. The company launched the new BMW X1 M Sport in the market at the price tag of INR 37.9 lac (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The newly launched car will be available with various tweaks on the inside as well as outside. M sports package come with the number of cosmetic changes and dynamic treatments which adds the sports appeal of the vehicle. The new M Sport pack will include 17-inch wheels and front bumper being typical M type one with 3 opening to give it better cooling and aerodynamic.
The vehicle was first launched in the year 2011 and after that it received updates in the year 2013. But this time, it got the entire new M sports package to keep itself fresh and going in the tough competitive auto market. The vehicle will compete against Volvo V40 and Audi Q3 in the segment. The company is further planning to introduce the next-generation X1 series in 2016. Other than this, many other models are in the lineup they are X3 M sport and 530d M Sport.
Talking about the exteriors, new BMW X1 M Sport will get additional features and is slightly different from its previous model, all thanks to the new M Sports package. The front fascia flaunts the dual beam projector headlamps, aggressive looking bumper with company’s logo embedded on it while the radiator grille is kidney bean shaped that gets vertical bars in high gloss with chrome surround. Fog lamps are round in shape which is fixed just below the headlamps making the overall looks of the car quite attractive.
While on the side profile, it receives a set of refreshed 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear contains attractive taillight cluster that is very elegantly sculpted with company’s logo and variant lettering. The newly updated vehicle will be available in two different color patterns they are Le Mans Blue and Alpine White.
Stepping inside, there are various noticeable tweaks such as steering wheel wrapped with leather and hand-stitched blue and red color while the seats are offered with contrast stitching and premium upholstery. M badges can be seen on the steering wheel and on the seats. Other than these updates, no other changes are seen in the car, it will get the similar cabin area as seen in the previous model. Both the front seats are electrically adjustable with memory function while the dashboard is very beautifully designed placed on the center console.
Other features that comes loaded in the car are infotainment unit with ergonomically placed control switches and advance AC unit. Car manufacturer has designed the car on Intelligent Versatility concept that helps in offering the cabin with better space and seating. Some standard feature will include power windows with one-touch operation, adjustable steering wheel and electrically adjustable outside mirrors.
Under the hood, new BMW X1 M Sport will work on 2.0 liter inline 4-cylinder BMW TwinPower turbo diesel mill. The engine is capable of producing the power output of 184 PS at 4000 rpm and maximum torque of 380 Nm between 1750 to 2750 rpm. The engine is connected with an 8-Speed Steptronic transmission transferring the power to the rear wheels. Coming to the mileage, BMW X1 M sports car can give the fuel economy of 17.05 kmpl.
The company also launched facelifted 1 series in the country at the price tag of INR 29.90 lacs. Previously, the car was showcased at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show. Now the updated car is longer as compared to its previous model, it gets the length of 4329 mm, a width of 1765 mm and height of 1440 mm.
Talking about the engine specifications, the vehicle will get the 118d Sportline trim that can produce the power output of 148bhp and peak torque of 360Nm mated to 8-speed manual transmission.
