Tesla Reveals Another Innovation with Model X

After its first glimpse in the year 2012 as a concept, the much awaited Model X has finally been launched by Tesla at the Fremont Plant in California. Tesla Model X is the world's first electric SUV. The founder and CEO of Tesla Motors, Mr. Elon Musk was present at the event and gave away quite a few details regarding some of the new and innovative features that the vehicle possesses.

One of the more notable features in the car is the Falcon Wings Door that would now work with the ultrasonic sensors that spot the objects in the vicinity. Further based on the speed of the car, the spoiler at the back portion will be automatically adjusted. The panoramic roof merges into the windshield of the car that adds to the utility and is aesthetically appealing too.

Inside the cabin, the ambience is pretty much the same as what we have seen in the S model. The massive 17-inch touchscreen infotainment system is something that the Tesla Motors has made its signature style giving a lavish feel to the buyers and the same can be seen in Model X. The SUV is quite spacious from the inside with a capacity to accommodate seven passengers including three in the centre row that can function independently. There is a option to increase the space as well in case the rear seats are not required to be used as they are flat-folding ones. There are two boots available in the car following the same principle of Model S.

There are a lot of technological advancements as well including the HEPA filter system that has been integrated by Tesla with the dashboard that delivers medical-grade air to the matter. This is off course independent of what is going outside. Here too we see the dual motor mechanism with the front motor generating 255bhp power whereas the rear one belts out 496bhp. Therefore, the total output stands at 751bhp whereas the overall torque generated is 966Nm.

Telsa Model X is stupendous when it comes to performance with the vehicle attaining a top speed of 250kmph. It takes the car only 3.2 seconds to go from 0 to 100kmph which is again as good as any vehicle in this segment. As far as capacity is concerned or rather the mileage, Tesla Model X can cover a range of 400kms when fully charged which should suffice for most users.

There is no holding back when it comes to safety features as Model X comes with side collision detection system, radar and sonar sensors, autonomous emergency braking, forward facing camera, etc. With such a compact system, Tesla can rightly expect a five star safety rating. The car is being offered in two trims; the base priced at US$ 132,000 (Rs. 86,48,000 approx) and the P90D tagged at US$ 142,000 (Rs. 93,000,00 approx)

Tesla Motors has been quite in the news lately with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting Tesla Motors recently. Mr. Modi and Elon Musk discussed various technology that may very well revolutionize the future. The new state of art technologies developed by Tesla can have a larger impact on the developing countries in the coming future.
