Maruti Suzuki is expected to showcase Ignis at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016. SUVs are continuously becoming popular among the buyers around the globe and following the same market trend, the company brings Ignis in the micro SUV segment. This compact crossover is about to be launched in the international market in a few weeks and just before the event, details of the car have been leaked out on the internet. Let us have a glance on these specifications:
Suzuki Ignis will be powered by a 1.25L Dualjet engine in the global market. This is a petrol mill that further will come mated to the SHVS mild hybrid technology from Suzuki as a standard feature for all its variants. A 3bhp electric motor will be paired along with this which is a part of the hybrid system. Altogether, the engine will produce a power output of 89.75bhp for what the electric unit will play an important role. This collectively will energize the 2-wheel drive as standard, however, the buyers will also get an option of Suzuki’s All Grip 4-wheel drive system. Moreover, transmission options will be both the manual as well as automatic.
Ignis is going to have an open war with one of its strong competitor, the KUV100. If we talk about a brief comparison of the two on the dimensions part, the Ignis is 3700 mm long, 25 mm longer than the KUV100. On the other hand, KUV100 is 55 mm wider and 60 mm taller than the Ignis, while latter is 1660 mm wide and 1595 mm tall. The wheelbase of the Ignis is 50 mm more than the wheelbase of KUV100, it is 2435 mm for the Ignis. So, the increased wheelbase provides more space at the luggage compartment which is 258 liters in the Ignis, 15 liters more than the boot volume of KUV100. But KUV100 wins by 58 liters of cargo volume when the rear bench is folded, Ignis gives 415-liter boot in this condition.
Ignis will have a smart storage space with its cabin. Rear seats will be adjustable and will be able to increase the legroom by 165 mm for the passengers. Apart from these, the audio system with Bluetooth and USB connectivity along with the climate control system will be a great comfort for having the inside feel according to your moods.
