Cops yet to trace four booked for actors’ death

BENGALURU: Four days after two actors drowned at the TG Halli reservoir during a film shoot, Tavarekere police are still looking for the film’s director Nagashekar and its stunt choreographer Ravi Verma. Raghav Uday and Anil Kumar went missing on Monday after they jumped off a helicopter into the reservoir to shoot a scene for ‘Masti Gudi’. Uday’s body was found on Wednesday and Anil’s on Thursday.

Speaking to Express, an investigating officer said that based on a complaint by superintendent of BWSSB, a case was filed and the producer Sundar Gowda was arrested. A special team has been formed to nab Nagashekar, Ravi Verma, a co-producer and a unit manager who are absconding.

“Policemen visited their houses in the city but they were not present. We have collected more evidence and have taken statements from the victims’ families. It is a clear case of murder and the crew forced the actors to jump into the lake even though they were aware of the dangers involved,” the officer said. “We are gathering witness accounts and recording their statements as part of the investigation,” he added.
