BENGALURU: Many kids were seen at a vigil held to save the trees at Government Veterinary Hospital on Queens Road on Sunday. They were seen posing questions to Bakula, one of the organisers and an artist. She said,“This event should reach out to the kids too, they are the future”.

Kamya Ramachandran, director of Jaaga DNA, added, “Conversation is the fastest way to spread a message. This message has to reach out to more people and the government.” Harini Raghavan, a director at a consulting firm and one of the volunteers, said, “We should save the city’s heritage, trees and the spirit of its people... this event is to save the ABC centres and the trees”.

Engineer Anita Rai came to know of the event through Facebook. “It’s high time the government include trees, heritage and culture while planning for the city,” said Anita.

History
This veterinary hospital was set up in 1908 by FJ Richards, president of the Station Municipality. Initially, it was a dairy farm and then it was turned into a veterinary hospital.
