BENGALURU: On Wednesday, Day 2 of Common Entrance Test (CET) 2017, students agreed that both the papers — Physics and Chemistry — were easy.
However, a few students complained that in the Physics paper, a question did not have the right option. Yashaswini a student of Surana College Kengeri, said, “In the paper I received, question number 17 did not have correct options. Instead of choosing the wrong answer, I skipped it.”
Neethi Kavi Mahesh, a student of DCFL PU College, said, “This has been the best paper so far. I did not expect it to be so easy. I’m hoping to score above 50. Most questions were straight forward, so I had enough time to attempt all questions. Questions were equally distributed from Class 11 and 12 syllabus. But one of the answer options in the Physics question paper was wrong.”
Even education experts agreed that there was an error in the Physics paper. Dr Sridhar G, founder of Deeksha Centre for Learning, said, “There was no correct option for one question in the Physics paper and even another question was ambiguous.”
K S Manjunath, executive director of Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), said, “We have not come across any such complaints so far. Even if there is an error, students do not have to worry as they still have a lot of time. There will be options to file objections after answers keys are published. Subject experts will examine the same before evaluation begins.”
According to KEA authorities, in case subject experts say there was an error in the paper, grace marks will be provided for the same.
