School’s ‘Bagless Day’ every week hit with students 

BENGALURU : Cleverland School, a co-education school at J P Nagar 8th Phase, was established in 2010 and is run by Cleverland Educational Trust. The school follows the CBSE & NCRET syllabi. The school provides equal importance to education and co-curricular activities. The teacher and student ratio in the nursery is 1:10 and the teacher-student ratio in the primary level is 1:20 with an assistant teacher and a coordinator for each class. The school has installed CCTVs in and around its premises to provide better security facility to the children.

One of the unique features of the school is ‘Bagless Day’ on every Wednesday when students from class 1 to 4 do not carry their school bags. On this day, dance, handwriting, abacus/vedic maths, English, spoken classes and karate are taught.The school has peer group in each class where four to five groups are formed with equal strength and one student from each group is nominated as captain to lead the activities related to academics and co-curricular activities.

The school conducts tests and exams every quarter and the performance of each student is reviewed during the Parents Teachers Meet. It conducts remedial classes for slow learners after the school hours. The school also updates the parents about its day to day activities on a app that can be logged in using a registration number given to them.The school brings in its own teaching methodology concepts to enhance the interest of children in learning. The students are taught about leadership qualities at their early years itself to make them better citizen in future.

To create social awareness and practical exposure among the students, Cleverland School conducts various field trips to industries, hospitals, central library, police station, fire station and museums.All religious festivals are celebrated and its importance and significance are explained during the assembly. The school supports RTE. For the current year 2017-18, admissions are being provided to RTE applicants as per the government norms, says Shilpa S Babu, Managing Trustee.
