Equal importance given to moral development and academics

BENGALURU : Vidhya Jyothi High School, a co-educational high school, was established in the year 1982, at BTM layout by J Haridas, founder-secretary. The school runs under Ektha Society and their vision is to cater to the needs of parents from different backgrounds, who aspire to get their children educated in a secular, morally strong and a well-equipped modern school, that doesn’t require the giving or taking of donations. 

Currently, there are 780 students from pre-nursery to 10 standard and the student teacher ratio is 1:35. The school also has a branch in Hongasandra and they follow the state syllabus for their curriculum. Vidhya Jyothi High School’s mission is to help children learn to grow as individuals, discover themselves as well as appreciate the nuances of the world around them, it’s a treasure house of penetrating wisdom. The management here also conducts remedial classes for students who are lagging behind, before and after school hours. 

Vidhya Jyothi High School, while imparting education, sees that the growth and development of the students is done on the basis of value education. So, equal importance is given to the moral development of the students along with the academics. For the all-round development of the students, co-scholastic activities are given due importance.

The students are hence bringing laurels to the institution by taking part in various competitions at inter-school, district, state, national and international levels too in different areas like sports, literary and cultural events. Scouts and Guides are part of the curriculum to keep the students physically fit and mentally strong.

The 10th standard students of Kannada medium have been awarded by Kannada Abhirudhi Pradhikari for securing distinction in SSLC exam for the last three years consecutively. The school wholeheartedly supports RTE and as per the government norms the school has provided seats to RTE applicants for the academic year 2018-19, says J Haridason, founder secretary.
