Government open to ideas on power plants

The government is willing to include more suggestions from stake holders for the new bidding documents being finalised for new power projects. The rationale is to make the bidding document more comprehensive and all encompassing. There were allegations that the earlier bid documents had too many discrepancies making it difficult for bidders.

“The standard bidding documents (SBDs) are being finalised. Whatever suggestions and comments come we will deliberate and reflect on that... We are open to change for the better   Power Minister Veerappa Moily told reporters on the sidelines of a research and development conclave.

He clarified that concerns raised by the bidders were being looked into and said, “All those allegations are not correct. If there are any apprehensions we will rectify it.”
