Sun TV Q2 net up 11.54 per cent at Rs 169.16 crore

Sun TV today reported 11.54 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 169.16 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, aided by other income.

The company had reported a net profit of Rs 151.65 crore for July-September period of last year.

Income from operations of the Kalanidhi Maran-owned Sun TV Network in the quarter under review was at Rs 466.41 crore, an increase of 7.63 per cent from Rs 433.34 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

Sun TV's other income during the quarter stood at Rs 37.80 crore as against Rs 9.61 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Overall expenses of the company stood at Rs 246.29 crore, up 12.88 per cent from Rs 218.17 crore in the same period of last fiscal.

Shares of the Chennai-based television broadcaster were trading at Rs 417.10 apiece in the afternoon trade, down 4.68 per cent from the previous day's close on the BSE.
