Indian shares fell on Wednesday to mark their lowest close in 2-1/2 weeks as software stocks slumped on caution ahead of India's top IT services provider Tata Consultancy Services' quarterly results later in the day.
TCS provisionally fell 2.9 percent, Wipro lost 2.7 percent while Infosys Ltd slumped 3 percent.
The benchmark BSE index provisionally closed 0.92 percent lower, while the broader NSE index lost 0.88 percent, marking their lowest close since March 27.
