Sensex Gains 135 Points in Afternoon Trade

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 43.50 points, or 0.55 percent up at 7,904.55 points.

MUMBAI: A benchmark index of Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), on Monday was trading 135.32 points, or 0.52 percent up during the afternoon session.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 43.50 points, or 0.55 percent up at 7,904.55 points.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 25,858.52 points, was trading at 25,974.03 points (at 01.09 p.m.) in the afternoon session, up 135.32 points, or 0.52 percent from the previous day's close at 25,838.71 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 25,991.08 points and a low of 25,856.86 points in the trade so far.

Good buying was observed in healthcare, auto and banking sectors, while selling pressure was seen in metal sector.
