Tech based banking services help larger sections of people

PUDUCHERRY: Union minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju today said that the modern science and technology applied by banking sector has enabled the financial institutions to reach out to vast sections of people.

Distributing loans after unveiling the Micro Units Development and Refinance Agency scheme here the Civil Aviation Minister said that the Centre had embarked upon several pioneering schemes to ensure that all sections of people were brought under financial inclusion scheme.

The Stand Up India scheme, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and also the social security measures have been operated in a very impressive manner in the union territory, he said.

He said by taking care of the need for air services steps were taken to increase the air connectivity within the country.

The minister stressed the need for honesty in implementing financial schemes.

Chief Minister V Narayanasamy who presided said that the MUDRA scheme envisaged disbursement of Rs 208 crore during the current fiscal in Puducherry.
