HYDERABAD: Uber on Thursday launched an engineering facility in Hyderabad. The new facility, the second one in India after Bengaluru, has a team of 40 engineers. The facility will focus on building world-class business intelligence platforms and real-time streaming for Uber globally. Spread over 18,000 sq ft, it is located at Hyderabad’s IT hub HiTech City.

“Our engineers across the world are solving complex problems with technology to continuously improve the Uber experience for riders and driver partners. I'm excited for the Hyderabad engineering team to join our global workforce to make Uber's mission of 'transportation for everyone, everywhere' a reality," said Daniel Graf, vice-president and head of product at Uber.

The engineering facility in Hyderabad will hire software engineers across all levels, who will focus on developing high-quality scalable platforms that focus on a seamless core global business economic experience.

Earlier in February 2016, Uber had set up its first Center of Excellence in Asia at Hyderabad to provide specialised support for critical incidents that require immediate attention.

Today, a team of 500 specialists provide support via multiple channels - email, phone and social media to ensure seamless experience before, during and after the ride through COE.
