HYDERABAD: Software major Tech Mahindra will set up a Blockchain centre at its Hyderabad campus. The centre will be set up at its Research and Development (R&D) arm ‘Makers Lab’ and facilitate co-innovation in this emerging field, and developing enterprise-grade solutions for customers across industries globally.

In order to facilitate competency in the field, the company has launched the Tech Mahindra BlockGeeks Programme. In its first phase, it will upskill a batch of 20 candidates.

“As part of our reskilling initiative, we are providing a comprehensive training to candidates to enable them to leverage next-generation technologies and facilitate end-to-end Blockchain-led transformation for our customers. We are targeting around 3,000 ‘blockgeeks’ to be trained by FY19,” said Rajesh Dhuddu, Global Practice Leader, Blockchain, Tech Mahindra.

Tech Mahindra recently announced their partnership with Stockholm-based Blockchain tech company ChromaWay to deliver the technology to the Indian market. It has also announced a strategic investment of Canadian Dollar 100 million in that country over next five years to establish a new ‘Center of Excellence’.
