The Centre will soon launch a job portal for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to boost employment opportunities.

NEW DELHI: The Centre will soon launch a job portal for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to boost employment opportunities.

The portal will be rolled out at the national MSME conclave, on June 27, on the occasion of the UN MSME day.

“The portal is one of its kind and it will work both as a platform for getting right opportunity and finding talent for the stakeholders in the sector. So far we have 4.40 lakh people registered with the portal, which includes people trained at out 18 technology centres,” Arun Kumar Panda, Secretary, MSME said.
Apart from that, the government claims to have encouraging response from the job providers.

“At present we have about 2,400 companies registered with it. One it is formally launched, we expect this number to go up considerably,” Panda added.“We will be setting up more technology centres. Apart from the existing 18 centres, we have 15 more coming up that picks people who are school drop outs to people who are highly qualified professionals. We expect this to generate interesting results and to provide more employment,” Panda added.

The national conclave “Udyog Sangam, 2018” will have about 2,300 delegates, which include small businesses, start-ups, financial companies, including banks and NBFCs.The conclave will also have a separate session for about 800 young entrepreneurs and women, who are planning to set up their own businesses.
