CHENNAI: This week at iB Hubs Startup School, young entrepreneurs gained insights into team building and fundraising, with a session on Team Building, Ankur Warikoo, founder and CEO of nearbuy.com, shared his personal journey into building the right team, the importance of commitment over skills, and optimising one’s resources for hiring.

Vijaya Kumar Sama, chief mentor of iB Hubs, interacted with the young founders and gave them insights into fundamentals which either build or break a company. He shared his entrepreneurial experiences on how he built a team of 1000+ individuals who aligned to the execution of a single vision.
Fundraising was another focus of the program this week. The young founders have worked intensively on improving their pitch and making it more lucrative to investors.

Abhay Tandon, programme manager at Target Accelerator, took an interesting session on ‘Fundraising’. In addition to sharing his personal knowhow of the topic, he conducted demo pitches with the young founders and helped them understand what makes most investors tick.

Satish Kataria, founder of Catapooolt, one of the largest fundraising platforms in India, took a session on crowdfunding for startups. The session gave valuable insights into the state of crowdfunding in India, different crowdfunding platforms, and the kind of target customers the platforms attract, and most important, how to position one’s product that will help achieve the campaign goals.

A webinar on ‘Fundamentals of Incorporating a Company and Intellectual Property’ by Saranya Bose and Padmaja Krishna from vakilsearch.com, helped the youngsters understand the legalities of a business. Many student startups at the programme decided on the right kind of incorporation their ventures need.
In addition to all these, the in-house mentors at iB Hubs assisted the student entrepreneurs to understand Basic Finance, Valuation of a Business, Financial Accounting, Term Sheets, Pitching, and much more.
