BANGALORE: RMC yard police on Wednesday arrested five men involved in illegal sale of snakes and rescued the snakes. In the morning, in an open ground behind the Shiva temple near the RMC Yard, two men - Devaraj (33) and K S Govindaraju (24) - were trying to sell two red sand boa snakes for lakhs of rupees.
On a tip-off, the police arrested the sellers and also three buyers S John (43), Robert (42) and Sharief (49). All the five were produced before the court.
The accused are said to be natives of Doddaballapura.
About a week ago too, some snakes were rescued by the police.
The reptiles were later handed over to the Bannerghatta National Park.Â
