BANGALORE: No one can deceive god. Every word spoken, every act done, every matter though of will be known to the Lord. Therefore man should change his attitude after considering everything carefully. All legends, and all religious treatises tell us about what is dear to god, what is good, what is not wanted and what is bad. Today we have to understand how those doing bad things were destroyed and how those doing good acts were saved and try to apply to our lives and see how we can do good things only.
We must know that by our good deeds everyday, by good thoughts and following them, we can get the divine favour. As far as possible, man should do good things, use good words while talking and possess good thoughts. All this applies to all human beings. Everyone should know it since it refers to everyone.
We speak everyday a lot. We commit mistakes while talking. Using words of slander and abusive language has been taking us away from God. We carry on our work everyday. But we steal and kill also. Such evil acts have been distancing us from the Lord. We will be closed to God if we have a mind for good thoughts.
Therefore we may become close to god or away from Him everyday according to our talks, our deeds and our mind. Today those who go near god are less in number than those who are distancing away from him. Hence, as far as possible we should not become rakshasas or ogres, or even animals but should become human beings only. This is the main tenet of humanism, Human religion means not Islam, not Christianity, and not Buddhism. It is not even Hinduism. It is humanism. Is is based on love and faith. The great Basavanna has said that compassion is the source for Dharma or religion, which is mutual love and belief. Passion and hostility are unrighteous. Dharma or righteousness can be carried out every minute. It may lead to God or by ding things unrighteous, we may go far from Him.
As far as possible men should be free from egoism. There is no use being arrogant in life. What can man do before the Almighty? They praise the good quality in Arjuna, Dharmaraya and Bheema, and ask that when they were great persons, what are you before them?
Today politics has become polluted. Hardship has increased. Confusion created by those who crave for power, or wealth or a life of luxury, has been on the increase. Everyday this is what is observed. So people should wake up. They should become enlightened people. They should understand that they are human beings, or farmers coming from the villages. Thus everyone should know about himself, about his status and should never forget his human consciousness.
Life is not permanent. No one knows when death comes. Life should be lived in a proper way. We should offer our service to society. When we change our attitude for this, and try to live virtuously, we should have belief in the Lord and without forgetting that He is all pervasive, we have to live with the fear of His presence. It is what the great souls have said again and again.
