BANGALORE: A 45yearold woman was strangulated to death with the wire of a mobile charger in Byatarayanapura police station limits on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Jayamma (43), a resident of 4th main road in Pantarapalya. She was a vegetable vendor. She was home between 10 am and 11 am when the miscreant entered the house and killed her. Her gold chain is also missing, police said.

She brought vegetables from the City Market to sell near Metro Layout. Her husband Annayyappa had left her 15 years ago and lived in Ramanagaram.She has three children Radha, Lakshmi and Anil. Radha was married and lived with her husband. The other two children lived with their mother. Lakshmi is an accountant and Anil works as a clerk in a private firm, police said.

In the morning, she went to City Market and returned home. Her children had gone to their offices by locking the doors. Police said she had opened the door with a duplicate key and was later found dead by the neighbours.

Police reached the spot with a dog squad and fingerprint experts. Byatarayanapura police, who registered a murder case, said they were looking into all angles.
