BANGALORE: The Hamsalekha Desi College of Performing Arts and Research, in order to encourage Desi theatre and also to cherish young talents in the enthusiastic youth of Bangalore and also the students of the college have taken up the production of the play Shivaratri written by the great poet Dr Chandrashekar Kambar, directed by well known theatre director Sri KrishnaMurthy Kavathar and the music done by the legend Shri Hamsalekha.

 Shivaratri play written by Dr Kambar is set in the era of Basavanna in a very different flavour. The characters of Basava, Bijjala, Sangayya and Savanthri are very strongly highlighted. The serious issues of the era will be portrayed in very artistic way. The play is scheduled on June 6 and June 7 in the evening at 6.30 pm in ADA Rangamandira in J C Road, Bangalore.
