BANGALORE: This festival season have the biggest slice of cake in the world. Just bake, a bakery chains in India, is all set to make its appearance in the Guinness Book of World Records as it displayed the largest fruit cake in the world on December 8 at Palace Ground, weighing over 3510 kgs, as against the current record which stands at 281.1 kgs.

Ram Ready, director of Just Bake said, “The officials of Guinness Books of World Records confirmed that they will be examining the cake on Sunday to check if it can hold the record.”

TRD-Trnuva Romania Diaries from Romania hold the current record for having the largest cake in the world. Ram says, “ We are confident about our work and it is 13 times bigger than the current record.  We have made this cake in our factory in separate portions and assembled it at the venue as one cake.”  He further adds, “ Since its Christmas season we have gone with the theme Santa Claus. We have dressed the cake with an image of Santa Claus carrying gifts on the sledge being pulled by rein deers.”

Over 150 bottles of rum, 1700 kgs of fruits and over 17,500 eggs among various ingredients have gone into making this cake. To create this world record the company started working on the cake for over 3 months by 30 chiefs.This cake will be presented for public viewing at the Food and Kitchen Expo at Palace Ground till Sunday. Food and Kitchen is hitting Bangalore for the first time.  So this weekend make sure your sweet tooth is tingling and have the biggest bite of the worlds largest cake.
