BANGALORE: Think twice before giving an advice to any errant driver in the city. In an incident that took place at Sadashivanagar police station limits on Sunday night, a person opened fire from his airgun after another person advised him about this rash driving.

Ninga Raju, a taxi-driver attached to BESCOM was returning home after attending a funeral at Kanakapura on Sunday night with his family. After dropping one of his friends at R T Nagar, the car was going towards Ninga Raju’s home.

At about 11.30 pm, the car crossed Mekhri Circle, and was near C V Raman Institute when a speeding Honda car came towards Ninga Raju’s car. Raju, in a fit of anger, asked the driver of the Honda Civic to mend his behaviour.

The Honda Civic driver went further for a few metres and then turned back. He overtook Ninga Raju’s car and opened fire from an airgun. While one bullet made a dent in the car, the other bullet hit Ninga Raju’s son in the head.

He was immediately taken to K C General hospital and then to NIMHANS, Ninga Raju told Express.

The police said that the bullet was removed and he is now out of danger. Ninga Raju has lodged a complaint at Sadashivanagar police.

The police have sent the bullets to the Forensic Science Laboratory for examination.

They suspect that the miscreants might have used an airgun loaded with the ball-bearing of a cycle chain. In the meantime, the embers of Ninga Raju’s family did not note down the number of the miscreant’s car.

They remember only a part of the it, the police said. A case has been registered against the unknown miscreant in this regard at Sadashivanagar police station and further investigations are on, the police said.
