BANGALORE: The High Court on Wednesday adjourned a PIL filed by Minister for Medical Education S A Ramdas in 2006 requesting the court to probe into the irregularities while issuing Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration cards. The Food and Civil Supplies Department had sought time to file objection as they are surveying to identify eligible and illegal BPL card holders.

Plea Against Anand Singh Adjourned

The HC on Wednesday adjourned a petition against BJP MLA from Vijaya Nagar Assembly Constituency in Bellary, B S Anand Singh, over a PIL alleging him and his family members of illegally operating private buses owned by them in routes reserved for state transport corporation. A bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna prorogued the case for further hearing.
