BANGALORE: The Madanayakanahalli police arrested a money lender for allegedly harassing public by charging exorbitant interest rates.
The accused as G T Narayanappa, 46, was a resident of Madanayakanahalli.
Police said that the accused used to lend money at 30 per cent interest rate and harassed public. It is suspected that he had made a transaction of around `50 lakh and had given money to more than 100 people, mostly garment factory workers.
Promissory notes related to his dealings, a car, `35,000 cash and other documents have been recovered from him. Nelamangala Circle Police Inspector Dr Prakash and team arrested the accused.
