BANGALORE: A 22-year-old student and a BPO employee was killed and his friend was hurt in an accident at Sarakki near Jaraganahalli in J P Nagar police station limits on Saturday.

The deceased Harish, a resident of Shivashakti Nagar in J P Nagar was a B Com student at B N M College and was also working for BSNL BPO located in Sarakki.

The incident took place in the midnight when Harish was returning home from work along with his colleague Yashwanth, also a resident of Shivashakti Nagar.

Sources said Harish was riding while Yashwanth was riding pillion.

Harish who was speeding, rammed the bike into a cab that was taking a U-turn.

The bike also hit an electric pole and Harish sustained fatal head injuries while Yashwanth was hurt.

“Passersby asked the cab driver Mallikarjun to shift Harish to a hospital.

A reluctant Mallikarjun took Harish in his car, but as Harish succumbed on the way, he got scared and dumped the body near a drainage in Sarakki and fled,” police explained.

Abandoned Body Creates Suspicion

Initially, it was suspected that Harish was murdered, as his body was abandoned.

However, investigations and Yashwanth’s statements revealed that it was an accident case.

However, Harish’s father Ramanna registered a case suspecting foul play behind his son’s death.

J P Nagar police have detained driver Mallikarjun in this regard and are further investigating.
