4 rowdies arrested in city

The Organised Crime Wing police of the Central Crime Branch have arrested four rowdies who had allegedly hatched a plot to rob and kill their opponent gang member.

The accused have been identified as Thirukumaran alias Kutti, 42, of Hoysalanagar off Banasawadi Ring Road in Hennur, Jaikanth alias Appan, 36, of TCM Royan Road in Chalavadipalya, Babu Prasad alias STD Babu, 40, of Siddarthanagar, and Peter, 37, of JJ Nagar.

Police said they were arrested near APMC Yard on Binny Mill Road while they waiting to attack their opponent gang member Dadiya Seena. Based on a tip off, the police swung into action and arrested them. Lethal weapons, a mobile phone and six SIM cards have been recovered from them. However, the other accused in the case, Garden Shiva, Ranjith and Praveen managed to escape and the police are on the look out for them.

“Accused Kutti and Appan are relatives. The latter along with his associates had allegedly tried to murder an aide of Dadiya Seena in 2010. Cottonpet police had registered an attempt to murder case against Appan and others. Seena was the prime witness in the case and Appan feared that Seena’s witness would land him in jail. Thus, he along with Kutti conspired to rob and murder Seena,” the police said.

“Investigations revealed that Kutti had also received supari from a person to murder a resident of Chamrajpet and we are probing the case. Kutti is a rowdy sheeter of Cottonpet police station and is involved in 25 cases including three murder cases, two kidnap and eight attempt to robbery cases. While, Appan was also allegedly involved in a murder case reported in 1993 and Peter is an accused in the murder case of Kemparaju registered in City Market station,” the police added.
