Two-headed snake for ‘sale’: 3 nabbed

The Adugodi police arrested three people who allegedly tried to sell a two-headed snake and seized the snake.

The accused are Raja, 22, of Vellore in Tamil Nadu, Harisha, 35, and Ganesh, 26, both residents of Laljinagar in Lakkasandra. Police said the accused were trying to sell the snake in Lakkasandra.

Acting on a tip-off, the police,  on the pretext of buying the snake arrested them.

“The snake was kept in a car and they had brought it from Tamil Nadu. They were trying to sell it for a few lakhs of rupees as there is a belief that two-headed snake brings luck. Also, it is believed that the snake has  medicinal value. The snake and the car have been seized from them,” the police added.

The police have registered a case under Wildlife Protection Act and are further investigating the role of others.
