The First ACMM Court on Saturday handed over the custody of Mohammed Akram, who hails from Nanded in Maharashtra to the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Maharashtra, while two other terror suspects were sent to judicial custody till October 11.

The terror suspects—Akram, Ubed-ur-Rahman and Dr Nayeem Siddiqui - were produced before the court as the police custody of Akram and Ubed-ur-Rahman ended on Saturday. Nayeem Siddique’s custody ends October 1. Since ATS Maharashtra had produced a body warrant against Akram, he was sent to their custody.

The court sent Ubed-ur-Rahman, who was arrested in Hyderabad and Dr Nayeem Siddique to judicial custody till October 11.

It is said that the Maharashtra ATS has specific inputs that Akram had established active cells in his state and may have vital information. According to the sources from Maharashtra ATS, it is learnt that Akram had set up an assassination squad in Maharashtra to kill right wing leaders.
